CVNSA Website Design

I worked in a group of four students in a partnership with a non-profit organization, Cache Valley National Service Organization, in order to revamp their existing website. Our client’s goal was to make community resources really easy to access, while also teaching people about the work that CVNSA does and the opportunities it provides. The previous site did have some good information, but it was hard to access. We reorganized the site to make it more user-friendly and meet the client’s goals.

We built the site based on the existing site’s template in Weebly, and I handled all of the custom coding (HTML/CSS) that we did. One example of this is the quick links section on the Community Resources page that allows users to navigate a long list of information much more easily. All of that had to be coded by hand, which I did myself.

I also designed the CVNSA logo using Adobe Illustrator. This was a difficult process because CVNSA has several stakeholders who all wanted a say in the final design of the logo, so the project had to be drafted several times before I was finally to create a logo that everyone involved was happy with.

I have included this in my portfolio to demonstrate that I am skilled in using Weebly to create and edit websites. Additionally, I understand enough HTML and CSS to modify and add to existing templates. I am also able to work closely with a client to meet their needs and goals.
