Writing Samples
While working on the CVNSA website, our client directed us to a website she liked as inspiration. This is an analysis of that site based on the six principles of design. The goal of this analysis was to identify the elements of the site that our client liked but was unable to articulate. We drew from those things as inspiration when designing our client's site. This paper also identifies some potentially problematic design choices, which we made sure to avoid in our site.
In addition to my writing skills, this analysis demonstrates that I understand the principles of design and how to apply them.
This is a rhetorical analysis of the attack in the form of music videos launched against United Airlines when they broke a customer's guitar. It also analyzes the response that United made and suggests possible ways they could have handled the situtation better.
This paper demonstrates my ability to recognize and analyze rhetorical choices in the world around me, such as in the YouTube videos this paper is about. Additionally, it shows that I understand how to use rhetoric effectively.
I wrote this paper as a part of a team. We first conducted research into the effectiveness of the email communication of a particular non-profit by analyzing past emails, interviewing staff members, and sending out a survey to all email recipients. Then we analyzed the data and presented our recommendations for improvement in the form of this report.
This paper demonstrates that I can work in a group to create a cohesive, professional document. I can also conduct research, analyze data, and draw conclusions from my findings.
